The Wolfson Classes

The Wolfson on-campus are scheduled to be held in 2011 at the Wolfson College the first two weeks of August, pending on a final confirmation. The classes deal mainly with problem behavior in companion animals, advanced learning theory and behavior modification. One day is dedicated to general reviews and another day to pilot and final projects. A tem-building course is also scheduled on the first saturday. Eligible candidates present and defend their final projects on the last day of the course.

In 2010, these classes are scheduled to Gaia, Spain, September 13 thru 19. For confirmation of venue for the 2011 classes, please check upcoming events regularly.

Registration and accommodation

You must register for the Wolfson classes latest May 31 and inform us of what type of room you wish. To register, please go to events. You do not register directly to the Wolfson College. Wolfson college is not the organizer of our August on-campus classes and bears no responsibility for the event.

All accommodation at Wolfson is wired up for high-speed Internet access. The Library building houses a large computer room with 18 modern PCs (running both Windows XP and Linux), which are integrated with the University’s Public Workstation Facility, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with automatic file backup. These computers are ideal for word processing and accessing email and the Internet.

Rent prices for 2009/10 are:

study bedroom with shared bathroom facilities £76.44 per week
small study bedroom with en-suite facilities £89.04 per week
standard study bedroom with en-suite facilities £98.56 per week
standard shared set £98.56 per week
self-contained single flat £126.91 per week

We will update this information as soon as we receive the final rates for 2011. Upon registering, you will have to pay a deposit of EUR 100 (approx. GBP 86), which is not reimbursable in case you should cancel your registration.

Our on-campus courses are held in Cambridge at the Wolfson College (mainly theoretical courses and final exams), in Gaia, Spain (mainly practical equine courses) and Chalong, Thailand (marine biology courses and animal welfare internship). We provide cheap and good accommodation for our students.

Video Courses On-line

You can attend some courses as a video course. If you have a very good internet connection, you can see these courses on-line as streaming. Otherwise, you must have the 'Animal Trainers Handbook' DVD box set, in which case you must contact your tutor.
