Sailing and Diving in Paradise—Life is great! The Andaman Sea is situated to the southeast of the Bay of Bengal, south of Myanmar, west of Thailand and east of the Andaman Islands; it is part of the Indian Ocean. It is roughly 1,200 km (750 mi) long and 650 km (400 mi) wide (east-west), with an area of 797,700 square km (308,000 sq mi). Its average depth is 870 m (2,854 ft), and the maximum depth is 3,777 m (12,392 ft). Several regions in the South Andaman are marine national parks. The South Andaman is rich in marine life with numerous species of fish and crustaceans and large, beautiful coral areas. It is where we sail and dive--the South Andaman Sea, a beauty you must experience! Our goal Our goal is to give you a great sailing and diving holiday, but also to offer you the possibility to learn more about marine environmental management. Sailing and Diving in Paradise offers you the possibility to improve your understanding of the marine ecosystems, coral reef conservation, and what you can do as a diver to protect the fragile aquatic environments. This is the tour for the serious diver, who wants to have a great diving holiday all while improving his knowledge about marine life. Your underwater guide will be Roger Abrantes, PhD in Evolutionary Biology and Divemaster, who will also give you, in the evenings aboard, three short presentations on (1) an introduction to marine biology, (2) marine environmental management, and (3) fish and coral identification. Diving If you are already a diver, you're ready to go. If you don't, don't worry. Our program gives you your PADI diving certificate during the first three days of the tour. We can also upgrade your diving certificate to Advanced Open Water diver, or you can take some of the PADI diving specialties.
The beauty of the South Andaman underwater is indescribable, you'll have to experience it yourself! You'll have a chance to meet many species, from the charming and nimble Nemos to the impressive and huge Whale Shark. The corals flourish in their magnificent colors, in the South Andaman not yet suffering too much form the otherwise dreadful bleaching affecting so many other coral regions. The water is warm, on average 31 C (88 F) and the visibility good. The air temperature is between 33 C (91 F) and 38 C (100 F) and you'll have plenty of chances to get an enviable tan. If you are interested in marine environmental topics and diving, all while enjoying the greatness of life and maybe make new friends, then Sailing and Diving in Paradise is just as tailored for you.
